The Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council has expressed deep resentment and concern regarding the omission of 'secularism and religious freedom' from the state's fundamental principles in the Constitution, as well as the temporary neglect of the interests, rights, and security of the religious and ethnic minority population—which constitutes one-tenth of the country's people—in the election manifestos of nearly all political parties, including BNP.
