Concept Note on Minority Human Rights in Bangladesh
Minority Human Rights—Present realities and Expectations - 27.12.2025
December is the month of Victory. With profound respect, we remember the three million martyrs whose sacrifice of blood and the two hundred thousand women whose dignity was violated made it possible for us to attain this independent Bangladesh. We pay tribute, with deep reverence, to the fearless freedom fighters who, risking their lives, took part in the Great Liberation War against the Pakistani occupying forces and brought into existence, on the world map, a Bangladesh envisioned as a non-discriminatory, democratic, and secular state. We also respectfully remember the nation’s finest sons—the intellectuals—who were brutally killed by the local collaborators of the Pakistani forces.
